2022 Morse Diversity Fellowship

In furtherance of our efforts to recruit, retain, and promote highly skilled attorneys who contribute to the diversity of our firm, we are pleased to offer the Morse Diversity Fellowship.

The Morse Diversity Fellowship program aims to provide training and mentorship opportunities critical to a law student’s professional development. Each year, Morse Fellows are selected from a competitive pool of applicants and are invited to join the firm for 8-10 weeks during the summer between their 1L and 2L academic years. Students selected as Morse Fellows will receive a $5000 cash stipend.

Applications will be accepted until the earlier of May 1, 2022 or when both fellowship positions have been filled. Selected applicants will be contacted on a rolling basis to arrange for personal interviews. All interviews for the 2022 Morse Diversity Fellowship program will be conducted virtually.

Foreign Filing Paralegal – Intellectual Property (Patent)

Morse is seeking a foreign filing paralegal to support our Patent Practice Group. Suitable candidates must possess superior organization skills and must have strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail, as well as a desire to fully engage with an energetic and growing group.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Preparing and filing of PCT Applications and related prosecution, including 371 (US) Applications, National Phase Applications, and direct filed foreign applications. Preparing formal documents as required for the PCT, and by other foreign countries.
  • Reviewing of incoming foreign associate correspondence and preparation of appropriate outgoing correspondence, including obtaining certification and/or legalization of documents as necessary.
  • Tracking receipt of documents and instructions from clients and following up as needed. Daily maintenance of electronic patent files.
  • Daily docket management including working with attorneys and legal staff regarding time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Special projects as assigned by the Patent Group Director.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • 3-5 years of foreign filing experience required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe)
  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or Paralegal Certificate preferred
  • Familiarity with CPi and IPDAS preferred
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Initiative, flexibility, resiliency, and a willingness to adapt to change

Senior Corporate Associate

Morse is currently seeking a highly skilled, senior-level corporate associate to join the Firm’s Waltham office.

Successful candidates will have:

  • 7 – 10 years of experience representing clients in a range of corporate, securities and business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings, financings (debt and equity) and general corporate matters
  • Experience with formation and funding of emerging growth companies, private equity investments, general corporate counseling and a wide variety of transactions
  • Demonstrated ability to first-chair transactions both in terms of drafting and negotiation
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Commitment to provide high quality client service
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a larger collaborative team and to mentor and develop less experienced team members
  • Experience in a robust corporate law practice required
  • Strong academic credentials
