Morse is currently seeking an Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist to join our Finance Department. This role works closely with attorneys, clients, staff, the billing department, and operations leadership. The AR Specialist will focus on timely collection of outstanding AR while maintaining a professional tone and relationship with firm clients. Working closely with a four-person team of staff accountants and billing personnel, this role requires excellent communication and organizational skills, along with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. This is a hybrid role with in-office presence of 3-4 days per week.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential responsibilities of the Accounts Receivable Specialist include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Prepare AR reports and coordinate with billing attorneys on client outreach to seek payment on outstanding balances.
- Act as a liaison between clients and attorneys to resolve outstanding balances.
- Research client inquiries and collaborate with billing department to resolve billing and account issues.
- Prepare reports and analyses to keep leadership informed of results and opportunities to decrease outstanding accounts receivable for the firm’s portfolio.
- Document notes on follow-up, payment plans, and resolutions.
- Research, review, and obtain approval for write-offs, ensuring compliance with the firm policies; prepare proposals for approval as necessary.
- Provide client intake and billing department with updates to client records when necessary.
- May perform back-up duties for other positions within the Finance Department.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of relevant work experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products
- Experience working with legal time and billing software preferred.
