As a Registered Patent Attorney and a former Patent Examiner, Dan is dedicated to securing and expanding the intellectual property rights of the firm’s clientele, with a particular focus on foreign and domestic patent prosecution and application drafting in the life science, pharmaceutical, diagnostics, and treatment fields.

Over the last 17 years, as both a Registered Patent Attorney and Patent Examiner, Dan has worked with research and academic institutions as well as start-up, mid-size, and large companies to identify and protect valuable inventions that encompass many technologies including, molecular biology, therapeutic and diagnostic antibodies, vaccines, gene editing reagents, novel microbes and microbial metabolites, small molecule and biologics compositions and corresponding delivery methods, microfluidic diagnostic devices, diagnostics, bio-scaffolds, dental implants and dental etching formulations, biopesticides, biocidal compositions, imaging contrast agents, cannabis, and various cosmetic and dermatology related inventions. Drawing upon his extensive knowledge gained as a Patent Examiner at the USPTO, Dan is able to strategically draft and prosecute patent applications in order to reduce costs for clients and increase chances of receiving an issued patent.

In addition to experience as a patent examiner, Dan’s IP experience also includes an in-house role at a Massachusetts biotech company and positions at several IP boutique firms and a Boston based research institution, where he focused on patent preparation and prosecution, trademark prosecution, license agreements, patentability searches and patentability opinions, IP litigation support as well as advising on patent strategy.

In his spare time, Dan enjoys exploring nature with his family and friends. He is a woodworking and auto mechanic hobbyist, who likes to tinker. Additionally, as a pianist and vocalist, music is a big part of Dan’s life and he currently volunteers as a piano accompanist and vocalist for several community choirs.
