Morse Expands Patent Practice; Welcomes Martin Zhang, Jeannie Wu, Russell Widom

WALTHAM, MA – Morse is pleased to welcome Martin Zhang, Jeannie Wu, and Russell Widom to the Firm and to our Patent Group. Martin joins us as Member, Jeannie as Counsel, and Russell as Senior Patent Agent.

Martin earned his J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law, an M.S. in Organic Chemistry from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, an M.A. in Chemistry from Bryn Mawr College, and a B.S. in Chemistry from Nanjing University. Much of Martin’s work involves patent applications relating to drug delivery methods, small molecules, chemical and pharmaceutical compositions, polymers, chemical engineering processes, nanotechnologies, and treatment and diagnosis of diseases. 

Jeannie focuses on patent matters in technical areas such as gene and cell-based therapies, small inhibitory RNAs, DNA and protein vaccines, peptide display technologies, diagnosis and treatment of various disorders, immunodiagnostics and therapeutics, drug discovery, transgenic animals and plants, biopolymers, and prosthetics. Jeannie earned her J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law, a B.S. in Biology from MIT, and a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from Princeton University.

Russell has held various research and teaching positions at Boston University and then started his own medical writing consulting business before becoming a Patent Agent. He frequently works on patent matters in technical areas such as biotechnology, biomaterials, biologics, pharmaceuticals, medical treatment and diagnostics, and medical devices. Russell earned his Ph.D. in Biology at The City University of New York and his A.B. in Biochemistry from Cornell University.
